K-Tron Seminar Description

K-Tron SCM Controls Plus Feeder Maintenance, Operation and Troubleshooting

Topics covered by all participants:

System Overview:
  Identify and define your system components and how they function together.

Operations:  Demonstrate how to properly program, operate and calibrate your K-Tron feeding system using your K-Tron user interface.

Feeder Mechanics:  Demonstrate how to identify any mechanical problems and then demonstrate how to perform any necessary mechanical repairs or maintenance.

Weighing Systems:  Demonstrate how to test your weighing system for proper communications with the control system.  Test and calibrate your weighing system to establish an accurate and repeatable weighing system. 

SCM Control:  Demonstrate how to setup, calibarate and test your motor control system using equipment such as a multimeter and oscilloscope.  This covers DC, vibratory and stepper drives. Validate speed pick-up operation.

SCM Electronics:  Demonstrate how to identify any problems related with the SCM electronics.  Use diagnostic LEDs and other tools to identify hardware problems.  You will perform software upgrades using a PC and loader.  You will also work with user interfaces.  ParamStore will be introduced.

SCM LON Communication Interfaces:  Demonstrate proper configuration of the LON network using a PC and software tools provided.  Configure I/O modules.

SCM Communication with External Devices:  Demonstrate, using SmartConfig, how to design, configure and test any communications tht you use between your SmartConnex Control System.

Who Should Attend?

If you are responsible for the calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of K-Tron feeder systems you should attend this seminar.  This includes Factory Engineers, Instrumentation Technicians and Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.  Your length of stay will be based on your level of responsibility with your K-Tron systems and also the type of K-Tron equipment you have.
